Welcome to the Grapevine Mesa

The Grapevine Mesa is located just south of Lake Mead and west of the Grand Canyon.  Although it is only a two-hour drive from Las Vegas it seems like a million miles.  The elevation here is higher than the surrounding area and the summers are cooler.  The air is clean and fresh and the nighttime sky is filled with millions of stars.

Prickly Pear in bloom

Springtime brings wildflowers and the desert becomes a spectacle of color.

                                                                                                 Joshua Tree in bloom

The most prominent feature of the Mesa is the Joshua Tree forest.   The forest provides homes to a wonderful variety of wildlife including quail, deer, burros, bighorn sheep, jackrabbits, and coyotes, just to name a few.

Magic moment, sunset on Grand Wash Cliffs

The Mesa is bordered to the east by the Grand Wash Cliffs.  The layers of rock seen in the cliffs are the same rocks that are exposed high in the rims of the Grand Canyon.  Sunsets paint the Grand Wash Cliffs in a wonderful array of pink and orange (we call it the "magic moment").

Lake Mead

This is a rock hound's paradise, everywhere you look is a new "treasure".  There is gold to find, old mines to visit and an enormous amount of water to swim and fish in.

So come stay awhile, enjoy the beauty of the Grapevine Mesa and find your own beat.
