2007 Coyote Melon Festival

Coyote Melon Launching Rules

(please note changes in entry deadline & contest start time)

1. Entry fee for Melon Launching is $10 if submitted before Wed., Oct.3. Entry fee after that date will be $15. 
2. Entry forms must be submitted by 10:00 AM Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007. 
3. There will be no cancellations for weather!!
4. Contest will begin at 10:30 AM on Saturday,  Oct. 6
5. This competition will be conducted according to the following rules:
   1.  There will be 2 divisions (mechanical & non-mechanical)  and 2 age brackets (adult and 12/under ).
   2. Contestants may use any method desired to propel the Coyote Melon toward the target, EXCEPT EXPLOSIVES! 
   3. Each contestant will launch a maximum of 3 melons.
   4. Scoring will be best out of three attempts.
   5. One entry per person
   6. All coyote melons used will be green.
   7. NO EXPLOSIVES!!
6. Decisions of the judges are final.
7. Trophy and cash prize will be awarded to the entry with the longest launch. In addition, any entry hitting the special target will be awarded a  Festival t-shirt. Cash prize will be half of the entry fees, with a minimum of $50. Awards will be presented in the amphitheatre immediately after.
8. The sponsors of this event will not be liable for any event or contract failures whatsoever caused by weather, natural causes, acts of God, or any other conditions beyond the control of the sponsors, etc.
