The shells of our drums have been variously woodburned and/or stained with inks, dyes & acrylics, to create unique, one-of-a-kind drums. The heads are made from deer rawhide that has been specifically treated for use in drum making, without the use of bleach & other harsh chemicals which weaken the hide. When stretched, the hide produces a beautiful & surprisingly rich tone. Gourd drums are surprisingly light, weighing on average 5 lb or less.
